Focus On The Family

In the Family First Series, we are intentionally focusing on the family in a spiritual aspect. We are looking at the family as a spiritual unit versus a natural unit because we are admonished by God in the scriptures to put Him first in everything. Matthew 6:33 states, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (NKJV) Once we put God first, the rest will fall into place. As our leader has so eloquently taught us; we focus on the “Whole Man” with the “Spirit Man” being the leader of the “Natural Man.”

With all this in mind, here is our plan of attack (on the enemy). We have already discussed the family. We will discuss the role of the father next, followed by the role of mother next. The roles of the son and daughter will be tackled after that. We will focus on the roles of the husband and the wife at the end of the Family First Series.

The role of the husband and wife should always and without question come first in the family. That is the Biblical design that God laid out in the beginning while the first man and woman was in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve became husband and wife, first, and then they became father and mother to Cain, Abel, and others.

I was talking to my father on the phone when “I” decided to talk about fathers first. I discussed it with Bishop Adkins and he said that it would be okay to proceed with my plan as I have laid it out.

The articles will be written by various people in the Greater Buelahland Fellowship. Each person chosen to write their respective article is highly qualified on the topic of their article.

Enjoy our “Focus on the Family”.

Family First

The Greater Buelahland Fellowship focuses on the family first. The family is key to the growth of the church. God made families. Genesis 2:18 states, The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." Therefore, the focus of the believers principal ministry is their family.

Your relationships should be as follows: God, spouse, children, and church. The Church movement’s design originated with the family. How can you lead a church or church ministry, if you cannot lead your own family? Our model for family is God. He covers, leads, provides, protects, disciplines, sacrifices, and empowers us, His children.

That is the best model we can have. Every believer must value their family with the highest regard, and view family as the first ministry they have.

Family existed before nation, government, race, or any other social relationship. The model for the Church movement is the family.
Paul wrote extensively about the family. We do not advocate neglecting ones family in the pursuit of church related ambitions.

Colossians 3:18-21 defines the family operation in great detail, Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting for Christians. Husbands, be loving to your wives, and be not cross or surly with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is well pleasing in Christians. Fathers, do not harass your children, lest you make them spiritless.

Your family should always be first, that’s the way God planned it.
